Dr. A. Neil Weiss, Veterinarian
Dr. A. Neil Weiss is owner and founder of The Manetto Hill Animal Hospital and Paw Seasons Hotel & Day Spa. A local graduate of Syosset High School, Dr. Weiss found his way back to the ‘old neighborhood’ after his professional training. He is an alumni of Colgate University with a degree in Biology. Soon after, he graduated Ross University Veterinary School with his clinical training at Oklahoma State University. Post-graduate training at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan rounded out Dr. Weiss’ academic and clinical training.
Early experience as an associate clinician, emergency room veterinarian and house-call doctor earned Dr. Weiss excellent experience in all aspects of animal care. Special interest in soft tissue surgery and laser assisted surgery are some of Dr. Weiss’ advanced skills
Dr. Weiss is married to Randi, our Hospital Administrator, with whom he has three children, Harley, Isabelle and Noah. They also have a house full of dogs and cats. He enjoys swimming and skiing when not working.
Dr. Beth Shevell, Veterinarian
Dr. Shevell has been working as a Veterinarian in the neighboring community for over 15 years. She is experienced in general surgery, dentistry, dermatology as well as and medical diagnostics. She brings her knowledge, compassion and talent to the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital. We are lucky to have her as part of our medical team.
Dr. Nicholas Lanzot, Veterinarian
Dr. Nicholas Lanzot earned his bachelor of science in Zoology from the SUNY at Oswego in 2010 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016.
During his clinical year, he completed externships at a multitude of zoos including Perth Zoo, Western Australia, Sedgewick County Zoo, Kansas and Topeka Zoo, Kansas where he worked with diverse endangered species including lowland mountain gorillas, cougars and Mexican wolves. Between semesters, he traveled to South Africa and Guatemala where he treated and performed surgeries on companion animals. Upon graduation, Dr. Lanzot attended an internship at VMCLI in West Islip in 2016. His internship training included over 7 specialty departments.
Dr. Lanzot began his professional career as a Veterinarian at a animal hospital in Queens, NY. Then made the jump to the West Coast and joined a practice in California. During the wildfires, he provided veterinary care to animals, treating and bandaging burn victims.
Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Lanzot is happy to return to his roots. In the end, his heart belonged to Long Island and we are happy he found his way home with us.
Randi, Hospital Administrator
Randi is happy to be working so closely with her husband, Dr. Weiss. Coming from a background in communications and theater, Randi loves the interaction of the animals and their owners alike. Randi runs the “behind-the-scenes” work that keeps the animal hospital in tip top shape.
Maryann, Office & Client Relations Manager
Maryann has been the Office Manager of the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital for over 14 years. She has created an atmosphere of teamwork and respect among the staff. Maryann’s management skills are unmatched. She is loved by all her co-workers. Maryann is the go-to person on a number of issues and she has managed to grow this practice into a well-oiled machine.
To know Maurizio is to love him. Maurizio is our very own “dog (and cat) Whisperer.” A very talented groomer with a soothing personality that puts all his clients in a state of relaxation and peace. His knowledge of breed cuts and talent makes even the scruffiest of pups look like show dogs. He greets his clients with a smile and with his gentle way, brings the essence of a spa feel to each and every guest. A master at cat grooming as well, Maurizio has been able to find peace even with those felines who have had to be sedated in the past. Maurizio has taken the Paw Season’s Hotel & Day Spa to a whole new level. We are so fortunate to have him.
Theresa has been a professional groomer since 2007. She is proficient at scissoring all dog breeds, bathing, blowouts and manicures and pedicures. Your pet will fall in love with her casual demeanor and love of every pet. Your pet is in for a treat when when Theresa is pampering them.
Eileen is the newest member of our grooming team but definitely not new to the profession. Eileen is talented and professional. She is available for appointments from Thursdays-Saturdays, she is in high demand so book early.
Kathi, Paw Seasons Hotel & Day Spa Manager
Kathi has been with the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital & Paw Seasons Hotel since 2004. A wonderfully talented all around person, Kathi started her career with us working in the hotel then moved on to assist Doctor Weiss as his right hand lady for over 10 years as his veterinary technician. Kathi has once again showed she can take on new responsibilities and has dived right in to running the Paw Seasons Hotel. She is extremely compassionate and responsible. Her dedication and love for animals can be seen every day. Even on her days off, Kathi is known to “drop in” and check to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Jennifer, Hotel Guest Services
Originally a Florida resident , Jennifer decided that coming home to New York was the right move. And we are so happy she did!! Jennifer has worked as a professional bather at pet salons and boarding facilities in New York and Florida. She is compassionate and loving to all our guests. Jennifer loves to engage the guests in playtime and makes sure they are getting lots of exercise.
Lorelei, Hotel Guest Services
Lorelei comes to us from another boarding facility on the island. She is extremely patient with the animals and knows how to read their behaviors. She has worked with the Bronx Zoo and Central Park Zoo leading educational tours. She is well organized and committed to her job. As Lorelei juggles many different jobs at the same time, we are lucky to have filling in on a part time basis.
Grace, Hotel Guest Services
Grace grew up in Las Vegas and has been around animals her whole life. A daughter of a veterinarian and a veterinary technician, Grace has spent her childhood helping out in her parent's animal hospital in Las Vegas. She is currently a hard working college student at Hofstra University. Grace is an all around employee, you can find her helping out in all departments. She is a pleasure to have as part of our team.
Mary , Receptionist
Mary is a seasoned veterinary hospital staff member who has been working in the industry since 2013. Mary is great at multi tasking, answering phones, speaking to clients, billing out and doing it all with a smile. She has worked as a veterinary assistant as well at her previous hospital.
Karen has been working the front desk of animal hospitals since 2014. She has a great deal of animal knowledge and she is a joy to work beside. Always happy and lending a hand with whatever needs to be done to make our patients and their families experience a positive one.
Joe has been with the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital for many years. He was a big part of the hotel, working hands on with the animals. Joe is now the smiling face at the front desk, greeting clients and his four legged friends. Joe is always positive and willing to help out wherever he is needed. He's got a huge heart and is loved by all!
Harley , Receptionist
This hard working woman splits her time working part-time at our front desk and being a full-time student studying biology with the intention of a career as a wild life veterinarian. She is full of positive energy and brings a degree of sophistication to the position. She is so organized and keeps the front desk moving efficiently.
Jessica, Head Veterinary Nurse
Jessica has such a natural way with animals. Her genuine love for animals makes them relax under her care. She has been trained in all aspects of the animal hospital and the Paw Seasons Hotel and has become valuable as part of our team. Jessica has been with us since 2013, but took off some time to join the United States Armed Forces. We are so happy she has returned, safe and sound, and we thank her for serving our country. We love having Jessica as part of the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital family!
Tami, Veterinary Nurse
Tami is a graduate of Stony Brook University with a major in environmental science. She was looking for a position with more hands on animal care and we were lucky to have crossed paths. She loves working with animals and has a gentle way making even the most timid of our 4-legged friends, feel comfortable. She has created an amazing Facebook and twitter page spotlighting our hotel guests as “pet of the week” and posting articles relating to animal care and health. She is organized, responsible and a caring hard worker. We are lucky to have her.
Mallory, Veterinary Nurse
Mallory came to us after working as a department manager for a major car dealership on Long Island. She decided she wanted a change and we are so glad she did!! She is a wonderful person who takes pride in her job and is compassionate to all. She is friendly, organized and a people person but more importantly...an animal person. Your pet will be hugged and kissed all day having Mallory taking care of them.
Jags, Veterinary Nurse
Jags has been working in different shelters and animal hospitals since 2013. As well as working in the animal profession, Jags is in the process of completing his college years studying criminology. He would like to combine his two passions, working with animals and law, and become a K-9 Police Officer. He has a tender way about him that calms even the most anxious of our four legged guests.
Mikayla, Veterinary Nurse
Mikayla comes to us with a whole lot of animal care experience. She worked at a busy general practice as well as one of the top veterinary emergency centers on Long Island. She fit right in with the staff, the moment she started. Mikayla is easy going and a great team player. She brings her knowledge and positive spirit to the practice.
Sergio, Veterinary Nurse
Sergio has been assisting Veterinarians on Long Island since 2017. His attention to detail is superb. He is careful and precise which makes him an ideal member of the team. He has done everything from setting up appointments to restraining pets in the exam room to pulling bloods and setting up for surgeries. He is an all around team player.
